Tryout Information and Requirements

Planning to try out for basketball? You will need an impact test completed and documented through Register My Athlete prior to tryouts on 11/4. Testing dates: 10/16, 10/23, 10/30. Players must have completed the RMA process and be cleared to try out by 3pm Monday, Nov 4th, or they will not be allowed to try out. Please call the DV Athletic Office with your questions, as they oversee this effort. Thank you!

Please plan to attend our annual Booster Board Election meeting. Monday, July 29th 6pm at DV High School, room H-108.

Please join us to vote in this year’s Booster Board. Nominations for any position remains open until the meeting begins. Only attending parents may cast a vote. Open to the parents of an enrolled DV student who plans to try out for boys basketball.

Thunder Varsity Overruns Mountain Pointe 70-53!

Led by dominating inside play by Osasere Ighodaro and 3 point shooting by Jackson Risi, Desert Vista shut down the strong 8th ranked (Arizona) Mountain Pointe Pride at DV.

They meet again at MP on January 29th.

Thunder Varsity Caps Good Run at Tarkanian Classic

The DV Thunder Varsity squad ended the tough Tarkanian Classic Tournament in Las Vegas with a solid 3-1 record, beating Compton, California’s Dominguez 69-66, and two Vegas teams. Desert Oasis fell to the Thunder 73-65 and Spring Valley lost to our boys 86-76. The only DV loss in the tournament was to a tough Overland team from Aurora, Colorado by a score of 77-63.
